Cora -Left to Die - Help us save her.
Cora didn’t just suffer an accident.
She
suffered betrayal.
She was hit by a car… and her own owners left her to die.
They didn’t rush her to a vet. They
didn’t seek help.
They
let her lie in pain for over 24 hours, broken, bleeding, and alone.
By the time she was finally taken to a clinic, it was nearly too late.
She was barely conscious. Her abdomen was filled with blood. Her spleen possibly ruptured. Her front leg hung useless. Her body was covered in deep bruising, and her gums were pale with anaemia.
And perhaps most heartbreakingly she was skin and bone.
Even before the accident, Cora had clearly been starved and neglected. A two-year-old Staffie cross who had never truly known love, care, or safety.
Staffies are too often judged by appearance but all Cora has ever shown is gentleness. Even now, she just wants to be near someone. Even now, she’s still trying to trust.
The incredible vet team saw the urgency. When her owners refused both treatment and to surrender her, they contacted us immediately. The police were called. On welfare grounds, Cora was seized and legally signed over to us.
That was the first time in her life that someone truly stood up for her.
The veterinary nurses at the clinic Mara and Megan acted fast, they went above and beyond. They gave her the very best emergency care. They fought for her when no one else would.
And Cora pulled through the night. Just.
She’s now stable, but her condition
remains critical.
Her
road to recovery will be long, painful, and expensive.
Cora urgently needs:
X-rays
& ultrasounds
Ongoing hospitalisation
Intensive
pain relief
Nutritional
support
Gentle
recovery time
A quiet,
loving foster home
We estimate her treatment will cost £3,000 - £5,000, though it may be more depending on what scans reveal. We simply don’t have the funds.
Are we in a position to take her
on? No.
Would
we ever let her be forgotten again? Absolutely not.
Can
we save her? Only with your help.
She’s already endured so much.
Starvation. Trauma. Neglect.
Abandoned by those who should have protected
her.
But
she is still here. Still fighting.
We believe she deserves every chance.
Please donate - even £1 could help keep her alive.
Please foster
- she cannot heal in a kennel.
Please share
- someone out there may be the one to say yes.
We’re urgently looking for a foster carer:
· Based in South West or West London
· Ground-floor or very few stairs
· No other pets (she hasn’t been tested)
· No young children (she’s in pain and vulnerable)
· Must drive and be able to attend vet appointments
Despite everything, Cora remains
soft, gentle, and full of heart.
She
doesn’t know why she’s been hurt.
She
doesn’t know why she was left behind.
But
she still wants to live.
Let’s not let her down like they
did.
Let’s
show her what love really feels like.
Help us save Cora. Please.
