No child should have to fight cancer, but to fight it twice in a decade is heartbreaking. Meet Nathan Alonso. When he was 4 years old, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of soft tissue cancer. It had spread to four areas of his spine and was in his bone marrow. With a 14% survival rate Nathan was part of a clinical trial. After a year of strong chemotherapy and 20 sessions of radiation Nathan was cancer free. Once a year Nathan would get scanned and pray that the cancer had not returned. Nathan plays soccer at a very high and competitive level and last month he had a chance to participate in a prestigious LaLiga Select Showcase in Madrid, Spain. While over there, he started having stomach pains, loss of appetite and fatigue. Upon returning back to the US, having dozens of scans, CTs, MRIs and a biopsy, Nathan's cancer had returned. Most 15-year-olds are hanging out with their friends, taking finals, and preparing for Christmas. Nathan's been in the hospital for the past 3 weeks. The road ahead of him will be long and rigid but he's not giving up. Please think about donating funds to help Nathan's family cover some of the costs of living this hospital life once again. Let's give his mom, dad and brother a little financial support so they can focus on helping Nathan through this tedious journey yet again.
