Support Linda (Rodick LHS 75) Shosky's Road to Recovery

On October 2, 2024, Linda was out running errands & on her way to her last stop at Haggens in Woodinville. What happened next was anything but routine. After turning right off of 195th St heading South to Haggens, her car was hit on the passenger side with such force, it caused her life-threatening injuries. The underside of the dashboard had slammed down onto Linda's legs just below her knees; they were nearly amputated. Thankfully, a King County Sheriff's Deputy came across the scene. This deputy told Linda that she would have to put tourniquets on both of her legs because she was bleeding profusely. This in itself saved her life! Linda was in & out of consciousness. After the tourniquets were applied, Linda was able to come to enough to talk to the officer. First responders arrived shortly after & had to cut the door post & backdoor off so that they could bring her out on a backboard since they were not sure of the extent of other injuries. They thought her legs would have to be amputated until they saw her feet & toes move! On the way to the hospital, Linda was given 2 pints of blood. She was taken to the Harborview Trauma Center where she has been for a month now recovering from her injuries to both legs.

Through extraordinary care, multiple surgeries & skin grafts over the past month, Linda's wounds are healing up.

Linda has a long road ahead of her with physical therapy at a skilled nursing facility before she will be able to walk, go to the bathroom, and take a shower without assistance. Linda is hopeful to return to her job at Proliance Surgeons in Edmonds, but time will tell.

Linda has been blessed with a loving & supportive husband, Buddy, & her brother, Titan. The love, prayers & offers of food from friends & church family have been so much appreciated. A friend has fabricated a ramp that will be installed soon so Linda will be able to get in & out of her home for Dr. appointments & such. The road ahead is still uncertain on so many fronts. Linda will be unable to work for who knows how long. She might not be able to go back to work at all. This is causing a financial hardship on the family so we are reaching out to family, friends & loved ones to see if anyone is able to help them out! Any & all help I am sure will be much appreciated! Thank you in advance! Much Love, Linda & Buddy

PS... We've had to change the amount as a ramp is going to need to be built & some up grades of the home are going to have to be done to accommodate the wheelchair.
