Hi, my name is Tania, and I'm starting a fundraiser to help my best friend Michelle who is currently going through a very tough time in his life. His husband and partner of 15 years (Kike), whom he recently married in February 2022, passed away in Mexico City. Kike's death occurred during a trip, and this fundraiser aims to help his husband and family with the costs of bringing him back to his hometown so his family and husband can give him a proper burial.
Michelle and Kike not only have been close friends of mine for many years but also have been the reason I believe in true and honest love. Throughout the years, they taught me how a couple, despite all of life's challenges, can love each other unconditionally and respectfully. In February 2022, I had the privilege to witness them walking down the aisle in a beautiful ceremony in Playa del Carmen, Qintana Roo, Mexico, where they both lived as a couple.
After more than 15 years of being together and only a few months of being married to each other, Michelle and Kike travelled to Mexico City, where a niece of Kike had her quinceañera (sweet sixteen). During one of the nights of the celebration, Kike and Michelle decided to go out on a date to celebrate their 7-month anniversary and have fun at one of the bars in the city. The next morning Kike was found dead in the Air BnB they rented for the trip. As a result of an investigation, it was determined that Kike slipped and hit his head at night, causing his death. It appears that something was slipped in both of Michelle's and Kike's drink the night of his death as Michelle did not gain consciousness until later the next morning and both of their wallets had been stolen. While they had a couple of drinks that night in celebration, Kike and Michelle were never people of excess and Kike's death came as a shock to all those who knew him personally since he was a healthy man who knew how to have a good time without exceeding his consumption of alcohol.
Kike's charisma and charm as a person was always followed by his willingness always to help those who needed his help, his advice as a friend was full of sincerity and kindness, and his personality made everyone feel at home and welcome. Kike's death has brought a huge void to everyone who knew him but also has put his family and his husband under severe financial pressure in a country where life is already hard as it is.
I don't mean to take much more of your time, but I do want to take this opportunity to ask you to help me make a positive difference in Michelle's life and relieve him from some of the financial distress he is going through right now. I can only hope he's able to manage the emotional burden of losing his life partner daily when it seemed it was just the beginning.
