For nearly two decades, Brett Francois has been a cornerstone of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District. Whether you're a student walking the halls, a teacher preparing for class, or a parent dropping off your child, chances are you've been greeted by Brett's warm smile and kind demeanor. To know Brett is truly to love him.
Brett dedicated years as a compassionate campus supervisor, ensuring the safety and well-being of our children. Now, as a Child Welfare Specialist, he builds invaluable bonds with students and families, offering crucial support to those who need it most. He's a quiet hero, consistently putting others before himself.
For the past two and a half years, Brett has been fighting a relentless battle against Stage 3 Metastatic Squamous Cell Cancer. Just recently, he received the devastating news that he is now also facing Stage 4 Metastatic Prostatic Adenocarcinoma, which has spread to his sternum.
This news means a long and arduous road ahead, filled with countless tests, debilitating radiation treatments, and frequent injections. Each day brings new challenges, not just for Brett, but for his entire family.
Brett is a devoted husband and a loving father to three wonderful girls. While he would never admit it, the grueling toll of his cancer treatments is significantly impacting his ability to work. This has placed an immense and unexpected financial burden on his family. Medical bills are piling up, and the everyday expenses of life continue, adding immense stress to an already unimaginable situation.
The Livermore community is more than just a place; it's a family. And right now, one of our own needs us. Brett has touched countless lives within our school district, offering support, guidance, and a friendly face to so many. It's time for us to return that kindness.
This is a daunting ask, I know, but my heart tells me we absolutely can make this happen. What if we united, Livermore, to pay off Brett's home? Picture the weight that would lift from his shoulders, the profound sense of security for his family, the sheer, unimaginable relief of facing cancer without the crushing burden of a mortgage. Let's give them the gift of true peace, a sanctuary where they can simply focus on healing.
Please consider donating whatever you are comfortable and able to contribute. Your donation will help alleviate the financial strain on his family, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: Brett's health and recovery.
Let's show Brett the same love and support he has so freely given to our students and families for all these years. Let's rally together as a community, as a family, and help Brett focus on healing.
Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and for being a part of Brett's journey.
