Dear GymSport Families,
As you know, our business operates based on income we receive from classes and team training, all of which has came to a complete stop due to COVID-19. We cannot continue to pay our staff and our mortgage until we are granted a loan from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). We applied for the loan as soon as the application was made available, but the money ran out and we are still waiting for the second round.
Though we have been offering Zoom classes to our team gymnasts, we don’t feel it would be fair to charge anyone because it is not an adequate substitute for in-person gym training. These classes are simply intended to help kids continue to feel inspired in their sport. For our team members especially, we have been trying to keep them in physical and emotional shape for our future recovery. These kids are unbelievable workers. Dedicated, brave, and optimistic. In fact, some of our team members currently practice multiple hours per day at home. We are inspired by the self-discipline and perseverance these small incredible people have shown.
Given the gravity of the situation we have decided to set up a GoFundMe account. This way, families can choose if and how much they want to help. We feel that the fundraiser takes the pressure off. We don’t want any of our families to feel pressured even if they have been with us for a long time. We want everyone to feel confident and comfortable to choose how much they want to help or whether they want to help at all. We understand that this time is difficult for absolutely everyone.
Whatever money is raised, will first go towards our staff payroll until the PPP loan comes to our account. Once we receive the PPP, if there are any additional funds raised we will allocate them to further preventive care and sanitation that will make our gym the most resilient for viruses and bacteria in the future. We are also working diligently on making a safe plan for re-opening. Thank you for your time and consideration.
