Since FP3 grabbed the torch from Coffee Plant in 2011, our shop has become a home away from home for so many of us.  We have cultivated a diverse family of downtown folk:  from the office friends who get to break away from the grind with a chat and a cup of coffee, to our network of fellow restaurant workers who bring support and care to one another, to the bicycle couriers who may clog our seats but still bring us so much joy and friendship... the downtown Fresh Pot has been such a major part of our daily life that it is hard to quantify. We have known many of you for the entirety of our downtown existence, monday through friday, for almost ten(!) years now. We truly are lucky to have such kind, generous, and badass people supporting our little coffee shop.

Though we tried to adapt and work through the current COVID-19 crisis, we had to make the excruciating decision to close our doors until it is once again safe to operate. Our future is suddenly unknown, and our staff must now rely on unsustainable unemployment benefits which do not consider that half of our income came from tips.  As a company, The Fresh Pot has already suffered losses that are crippling, and recovering from this financial blow is going to be an unprecedented challenge.  We have been so privileged to have your support throughout the years, and we truly look forward to when we can open our doors once again. 

For now we must ask for more financial support from our friends and customers.  It is so difficult to do since we are all facing different challenges for an unknown period of time.  Money raised will be divided between staff wages and cafe operating costs.  We are so grateful for all of your help and support, and look forward to when we can provide your home away from home once again. We love you!!!
