At 60 years old, I’ve decided to completely change my life.
For the last 16 years I haven’t exercised at all, averaging barely 6,000 steps a week. I was unfit, unhealthy, and heading in the wrong direction. But enough is enough. I’ve joined a bootcamp that I attend three times a week, I’m eating properly, and I’m committed to making my body as healthy and strong as it can be.
Near Christmas, I’ll be stepping into a boxing ring for a huge charity event, something I never imagined I would do at this stage of my life.
I’ll be fighting for Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough, the only children’s hospice in the East Midlands. This charity is incredibly close to my heart. My granddaughter was taken there immediately after she was born, and I saw first-hand the extraordinary care, compassion, and dedication they give, not just to the children, but to their families during the most difficult moments of their lives.
Rainbows provides love, dignity, and support when families need it most, and no words can truly express how incredible their work is.
This fight isn’t about boxing.
It’s about gratitude.
It’s about giving something back.
And it’s about proving that it’s never too late to stand up, make a change, and do something meaningful.
I’ll be carrying Rainbows, the children, and their families with me into that ring.
Thank you for supporting this journey, it truly means everything.
