Gyda and tripawd Alaska’s trip to USA

Donation protected
tl;dr, Help Alaska and Gyda to travel to USA. For the cost breakdown, scroll towards the bottom.

Alaska is a sweet three-legged husky, who was rescued by Mount Lebanon Dog Shelter after a road accident, in 2021. Not much of her past is known other than she became an unwanted pet in someone’s life. No one came looking for her. Her injury was so severe that her one front leg had to be amputated. But it doesn’t stop her from running, climbing stairs or play happy like any other dog. She waited at the shelter for more than a year and nobody showed interest to adopt her.
Gyda is a sweet husky mix, rescued in a very bad condition, from a hoarder who dumped 69 dogs in a “death-truck” in the summer heat in 2022. She is now healed from the infections and ready to find her forever home!

Both girls have a chance to travel to The Great Pacific Northwest part of US/Canada and look for a forever home here. Dogs have more chance to find homes if they are locally available for meetups.

A volunteer at Mount Lebanon Dog Shelter has offered to fly to USA with them, amidst the economy crisis Lebanon has been facing. We created this fundraiser to help with the flight costs. I understand inflation and recession is affecting many of us including me, from giving generous donations. But if 200 people can sacrifice a Starbucks coffee :) and donate $10, or 400 people can donate $5, we can make this trip happen! Or if you like to sponsor flight or crate for Gyda (or Alaska), see the breakdown of costs below. You can note it in the comments when you donate.
These dogs are already vaccinated, neutered, blood tests done; all thanks to everyone who donates to Mount Lebanon dog shelter regularly!

This is a much awaited trip for Mount Lebanon shelter and us! Both girls will finally have a chance to find a home, it will free up space at the shelter so they can take in another injured, neglected or abused dog on the street. Lebanon doesn’t have government funded shelters. The dogs who are on the streets have hope only because of the kind hearted humans who run non-profits in the area and international adoptions, as local adoptions are few.

If it’s in your heart to support these two girls’ trip, please donate. Any small amount will help!
You can read more about the work Mount Lebanon Dog Shelter does at

Here is a breakdown of the total listed-

Flight cost for Gyda - $400
Travel crate for Gyda - $100

Travel partner / volunteer flight ticket - $1500

(Flight cost + crate for Alaska is additional $500, which I didn’t add to the go fund me.
This is the cost to get them here. We take care of their needs, after they arrive here until they find their forever homes. This includes post-travel vet care, food, transport etc. Anything extra raised will be used towards this).
