Medical Support for My Dad
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Chris Choi, and I am raising funds for my dad's (Moo Jean Choi) medical care and living expenses following his stage 3 colon cancer diagnosis, the removal surgery, and possible chemotherapy. I am a 29-year-old JMU graduate currently living in DC. My family and I came to this country in 2008 and have been living here since, trying to be a part of this country even though my parents' English is not perfect. My dad was working as a dental lab assistant, and my mom works at a dry cleaner.
On October 24th of this year, my dad started having a sharp abdominal pain and went to the ER. Following a CT scan and colonoscopy, he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and needed surgery to remove the tumor. This was a devastating moment for all of us; my dad is one of the world's hardest workers and a great father who knows nothing but to give love to our family.
Currently, my dad has gone through a successful surgery on November 8th and is going through his recovery process at home. Unfortunately, neither of my parents have insurance to cover the expenses that have occurred. To make things worse, after my dad's cancer diagnosis, he lost his job and will be unable to get back into the workforce until he fully recovers.
All of the proceeds will go to my dad's medical and living expenses during his recovery. He is also expected to go through chemotherapy, and the proceeds will also cover those expenses. We are currently facing about $90,000 in bills and expect this to be only going up.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donation. Even if you can't donate, we would really appreciate if you could help spread the word by sharing the link.
Much love and thanks,
Chris Choi
