Help Our Family Honor Our Loved Ones Lost in the Devastating Flood

Our hearts are broken for our family, friends, and the entire community of Shyapru Besi, Rasuwa, Nepal, after a devastating flood swept through the village, destroying homes, belongings, livelihoods, and taking lives.

This tragedy has personally devastated our family. My wife’s mother and father are both still missing. Her sister’s husband and their 5-year-old son are also still missing. Our family is living through unimaginable pain and uncertainty as we wait for answers and hope for the safe recovery of our loved ones.

My name is Phurtenzing Sherpa, and I was born in Dhunche, Rasuwa, from Nepal and currently live in Ontario, Canada. I am raising these funds on behalf of my wife Samjhana Tamang (Shyapru, Rasuwa) and our family to help honor and lay to rest our loved ones who have lost their lives in this devastating tragedy.

I have a direct family connection to those affected. My wife’s parents and her sister’s family have been directly impacted by the flood, and several of our family members remain missing.

The sole purpose of this fundraiser is to help our family with funeral, cremation, memorial, and related expenses for family members who have lost their lives in the flood.

Because some family members are still missing, arrangements will be made as information becomes available and once their status and recovery are confirmed.

There are no words that can truly describe the pain our family is experiencing. We are not only grieving the loss of loved ones, but also facing the difficult reality of arranging their funerals and honoring their lives during an already devastating time.
