In Oct 2023, my father-in-law had a heart attack and shortly had a rapid decline in his health. He was constantly fatigued with low energy levels and slowly started to lose function of his left side extremities. He started having double vision, constant headaches, and his right side face became droopy. Jan 17, 2024 he finally decided to go to the emergency room. They ran a lot of diagnostic test and an MRI.

The MRI showed a tumor on his brain stem. Unfortunately because of where the tumor is, the tumor is not able to be removed and doing a biopsy is really risky.

Because of the neurosurgeons experience in this, they believe it to be a stage 4 glioblastoma, which means it is not curable. He will be receiving radiation and be taking chemotherapy orally.

My father-in-law is self employed and the breadwinner of the home. Due to this recent diagnosis, he is unable to work, drive, or walk by himself.
