Hi, i’m Alwenna, a friend of Helen and Oswyn.

This is their story:-

On Sunday we took Hunter to A&E. Yet again, he was having loads of little issues from a sore knee to constipation etc. On Sunday, we noticed his eye was bulging and he was complaining of a headache so phone call to out of hours and they told us to head to the local hospital. 4 hours later we are on a ward awaiting a blood test and CT scan. By 10 pm we were given the results and because they weren’t sure they were referring us to Alder hey! Me and Hunter arrived at AH at 5am (I was 23hours awake by this point) Monday was spent with Hunter being poked and prodded, more bloods, and an MRI scan!

Last night we were given the diagnosis of Acute myeloid leukaemia.

Me and Oswyn are beyond devastated for him and we have a long journey ahead of us. The next 6 months are going to be tough but we will get through it!!
