THANK YOU EVERYONE I REACHED MY GOAL!
Hi, my name is Milah and I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help like this, but I’m currently going through a very difficult housing crisis and I’m trying to keep my cat safe while I get back on my feet.
This week I was evicted from my flat and had to leave my home with very little notice. The council has placed me in temporary emergency accommodation in a women’s shared house, which I am very grateful for, but unfortunately they do not allow pets.
My cat means the world to me. I live alone and I have struggled with anxiety, depression and ADHD for a long time, and he has been a huge source of comfort and emotional support during some very difficult periods of my life. Losing him permanently would be absolutely devastating.
Because I have nowhere that allows pets right now, I have had to place him in a cattery temporarily so that he is safe while I try to sort out my housing situation. Unfortunately I am currently in a very difficult financial position. I moved out at 17 and have been trying to support myself independently ever since, and over the past couple of years I have been struggling financially and living in my overdraft.
The good news is that things are starting to move in the right direction. I have just started a new job as a teaching assistant and beauty tutor in a secure school in Hailsham, and the school has already told me they would like to make me a permanent member of staff. I am working hard to stabilise my life and find secure housing where I will be able to bring my cat home again.
Right now the only thing I am asking for help with is covering the cost of his temporary stay in the cattery while I work with the council to secure a more stable home. Every donation, no matter how small, would help me keep him safe until we can be reunited again.
If you are able to help, it would mean more to me than I can put into words. And if you cannot donate, even sharing this page would make a huge difference.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
Milah & Moshe
