Carrie's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected

Carrie is a 35-year-old mum to two little boys, a loving wife, a daughter to two amazing parents, and the eldest cousin and big sister in a big, close, supportive family.

She is also facing stage 4 cancer.

This page has been set up by Carrie’s family to raise funds for life-prolonging cancer treatment, giving her more time with the people she loves. Carrie has bravely shared her story in her own words, so you can understand the journey she and our family are going through. Her story is below.

"My name is Carrie and I never thought I’d be in this position again, I had stage 3 bowel cancer back in 2022, I had to have emergency surgery twice and ended up with a stoma bag. I was in hospital for 5 weeks. At the time, my children were 2 and 10 months old. I then had 6 long months of chemotherapy. After this, my scan results were NED (no evidence of disease) which as anyone who has faced cancer knows is the best news ever!! I thought “I can see my children grow up” I then went on and carried on with my life.

Unfortunately in August 2025 I started having pain and it got so horrific I ended up in a&e. I was in hospital for a total of 6 weeks 5 of which was just trying to control the pain, doctors tried everything, morphine, fentanyl, even ketamine, it was horrific! But finally palliative care managed to get on top of it. This was terrifying because to hear "palliative care" your mind goes to one thing. I know my family were all thinking the same thing. They weren’t sure if it was an ovarian cyst or if the cancer was back. After lot of scans, and waiting we unfortunately had the news that the cancer was back…. Stage 4, the tumour was over my ovary and there were cells in my peritoneum. We were distraught!

All I could think about was my children, who are 6 and 4. They are my entire world, and I couldn’t imagine not being here to watch them grow up.

My family will tell you that all I ever wanted in life was to be a mother and a wife. My life is perfect — it’s everything I dreamed of and more.

Then I was told there was no option for surgery. The cancer was too aggressive, and because of scar tissue from previous operations, surgery would be too difficult. Instead, I was told I needed to start thinking about how my life would end, where I would die and even how I wanted my funeral to be.

It was absolutely horrific.

Luckily there was one surgeon in the whole of the UK who was willing to take on my case and do surgery. I thank God for her every day because she did save my life. If she didn’t do that surgery when she did I wouldn’t be here now.

That brings us to now. I’m currently having chemotherapy. I’ve been told numerous time by my oncology team that my cancer is incurable, I understand that, but I want as much time with my children as possible. Im not allowing this to take me without a fight, I will do anything to be here for my babies!!

There is a surgery that isn’t available on the NHS that could help extend my life. It’s called HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy).

It’s a complex operation, lasting between 8–12 hours, where the abdomen is opened and the entire cavity is bathed in heated chemotherapy to kill any remaining cancer cells, in the hope of improving survival.

My family and I are hoping that, with this surgery, along with regular chemotherapy, I can see my babies grow up.

If you’ve happened to come across this page and don’t know me or my family, thank you for taking the time to read my story. I’m going to be brave and ask for your help. I’m not someone who finds it easy to ask for money, but if you’re able to donate, my family and I would be truly, truly grateful.

Any amount, no matter how small, really does help, because all those small kindnesses add up.

I want to live. I have to. My babies need me.

If you’re not able to donate, I completely understand. Sharing this page helps just as much, so please help us get it out there for others to see.

Thank you all xxx"
