Surgery for Brutus

Brutus is my 4 year old blue nose pit bull.  He was my husband’s best friend from the time he was abandoned on our property when he was 4 weeks old until the day my husband passed away in February 2019.  He has been my comfort and is my heart.  

About a month ago Brutus began limping so I took him to the vet immediately.  They thought is was probably a pulled muscle and gave him a pain medication and an anti inflammatory.  It didn’t work.  They did testing for cancer and thankfully that was negative. They did x-rays and found his kneecap is detached and rubbing bone on bone causing him great pain.  From there I took him to a specialist who examined him and confirmed the diagnosis.  The only remedy is surgery.

The funds raised will help me with his surgery and after care.  So far the medical expenses total a little over $1,000 and have strained my finances.  The surgery estimate is $3,663.60.  The additional requested is for contingencies.  

I promised my husband that I would take care of Brutus for as long as I live.  I intend to keep that promise and Brutus deserves nothing less.  Thank you.
