Unfortunately Christopher has been out of work since April due to his treatment for large B cell non Hodgkin's lymphoma . It started with a cough that would not go away starting as far back as December 2014 from what we can remember. He just thought it was the common cold so he went to the Drs and they gave him a prescription for an antibiotic to get rid of his "cold" . It didn't go away. Once Breanna noticed that it was hard for him to get up the stairs at their house without him being winded she insisted that he go back to the Drs. She felt that something wasn't right. Nowhere in her mind did she think cancer. That same day Christopher set up an appointment. He saw the nurse practitioner. She told him it sounds like allergies and ordered a blood test to check for any possible allergies. At the end of his appointment she said that she was also going to order an X-ray just to be safe. Later that day around 1pm Christopher received a call on his cell phone from the Drs office telling him that the X-ray showed abnormal growths and that he needed an emergency CT scan. The scan confirmed that he had Lymphoma, but further tests needed to be done to find out what kind. The Dr was only able to tell us that his cancer started in the lower area of his neck and was all through his mid section to his lower abdomen. Within a week we knew he had stage 4 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. His biggest fear at that point was not being there for his family. He had just been married 2 years prior and had a 5 month old son, a 2 yr old daughter and 2 older step daughters ages 12 and 13. He wanted to be there for them and watch them grow old. He was afraid that might be taken away from him. He started his treatments within 2 weeks of being diagnosed and with the support of his family and friends he remained positive. He is currently in remission and needs to undergo one more round of chemo therapy. Due to him being off work for so long bills have been piling up. Any help is greatly appreciated and will be used to help cover the costs of bills until Christopher has recovered and can go back to work to help support his family.
