This is my brother, David Glidden. In June 2013 he was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. His blood work showed that he was quite ill, but his mind and spirit said otherwise. He was determined to continue his vigorous workout regimen, which includes a 3-4 mile per day run, although he was quite ill. His doctors found that to be rather amazing. He has continued to work as a Registered Investment Advisor, but at a greatly reduced pace. He has always tried to be a good husband and father to two beautiful girls.
Then in May of 2014 he began to develop some new symptoms which called for more tests. The doctors found lymphoma in his colon, and in skin lesions which was as a result of the leukemia, and they upgraded the cancer to stage 4. With this, the chemotherapy commenced. Long and hard treatments followed by days of the difficult and painful side effects.
This brother of mine didn't bat an eye (He has crazy long eyelashes, by the way!) because he has a strong and secure faith in his God. He trusts Him with his life, which he gave to Him years ago. He also has maybe the strongest will in the world and doesn't like to lose :). He's a fighter. His family and friends marvel at him for his strength, fortitude and incredibly (his doctors were right) positive attitude. He continues to lift others up, encouraging them and teaching them about life and The Lord. He's good people, and not just because he's my brother.
He has now been limited to a very part-time work schedule for over a year and a half. The chemo treatments and hospitalizations have made that even harder. With mounting medical bills and regular bills, the family's financial situation has become worrisome, hence my call for help. Being the hard worker and good provider that he is, he works whenever he can and probably when he should be resting. That's how he rolls, that's what he "needs" to do. Unfortunately, circumstances leave him no choice sometimes. Prayers are appreciated, as is any financial help.
