Dale is my sister’s husband. They are the parents of 3 young children, ages 12, 10, and 10, and their anniversary is tomorrow. My sister, Valerie, can’t even be with him on their anniversary
After a couple months of unexplained back and abdominal pain, doctor visits, CT scans, MRI's, Ultrasounds, all kinds of different medicines, a 2 day hospital stay and a couple biopsies, a PET Scan was finally authorized...which then an oncologist confirmed on Monday, December 14th...the dreaded C word has made it into our home and lives.
Dale is confirmed to have B Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It is stage 4 and treatable as of now because it hasn't reached any organs yet. He does have a mass on his lower right back below his rib cage, an abdominal mass that isn't attached to anything and a tumor on his spine. He has a long road ahead of him
He's been in the hospital for testing and chemo since Wednesday, December 16th. His Dr is amazing and so far Dale is handling the treatments well. He will have a radiation treatment on his spine sometime soon. It isn't scheduled yet, and he still has several chemo treatments left before he can come home.
We are hoping for a Merry Christmas with Dale home with us. Any help is greatly appreciated, especially since so much is unknown right now.
