Lost & Alone

My name is Deven Teixeira. I am 18 and in my first year at Humboldt State studying business. I have suffered many trials throughout my life. My father left when I was 10 and has chosen to not be involved whatsoever. During my high school years I was left basically homeless, relying on the kindness of friends - and sometimes teachers - to give me a bed to sleep in. I have suffered physical and emotional abuse more than I want to think about. I have one fan, one true supporter my entire life - my mom. Michelle Teixeira, also suffered a life of pain and abuse. Regardless of the problems in her life, she was always in my corner. The day I left for college was one of the proudest moments of my mom's life. My mom died last week. On 9/10/2015, mom took her last breath in a hospital bed at UCSF after a three year battle with breast cancer at only 47 years old. She fought until the end, but accepted the plan God had for her and died with dignity. I feel I am truly alone now. My biggest fan, my biggest supporter, is gone. I want to finish college and take care of my siblings. I want to be the man my mom wanted me to be. I need your help now. Any support you can offer will be appreciated more than you can imagine. Please help me finish college to eventually support my siblings. I am alone, but I cannot do this alone. I need all of you to make this happen and make my mom proud of me.
