Help Tank Come Home
Thursday evening our sweet boy Tank suffered an accident at home that resulted him having a severe heat stroke. When he was found by our friend/housemate Rachel she called us and the three of us immediately rushed him to Dove Lewis. They took him back for emergency medical care and he has been in their custody since 8pm on Thursday night.
While his vitals have been stabilizing, his blood is still not clotting so we're continuing to get plasma transfusions which should hopefully help. The doctors are also worried about damage to one of his kidneys, and potential bleeding into his brain and upper GI tract.
The fact that he has made it this far is proof that we have the most stubborn and head strong puppy in the entire world, but we aren't out of the woods yet.
We have already put down 3 separate deposits at the hospital, totaling $9,430 but it's looking like he's going to need to be hospitalized for the next 24-48 hours and then be heavily medicated when he comes home. Our cards are almost maxed out and we're worried about being able to give him the care that he needs while he is in the hospital.
Matt & I have taken time off of work to be readily available to see him or make any decisions (medical or financial) together as a family, which means our regular sources of income have become irregular at best.
We're hoping to be able to raise enough money to get him home and supply medication for him during this time. I will be posting receipts for all of the charges for the sake of transparency.
It's really hard to ask for help, but we really need it so we can get our baby home.
It was his first birthday on Friday.
We just want him to come home to us, he has become the light of our life and we can't imagine not having his smiling little face around us.
