Dear friends, former co-workers, and students:  After 40 plus years of teaching & coaching, Wells McMurray was enjoying retirement until he was diagnosed with advanced, metastatic, inoperable prostrate cancer in early 2018.  It was quite sudden, going from a PSA of 1-2 to 9+ in less than six months.  After undergoing several months of radiation treatment, he is currently in remission but will continue taking a number of extremely expensive medications for the rest of his life. 

To add insult to injury, after years of running marathons, coaching & playing soccer, his right ankle has all but given out.  He is exploring several options to help him walk without pain & a cane.  He was hoping non-surgical options would help, but to no avail.  He is now looking at surgical options.  Most of all, he'd love to be able to walk & even run (slowly) again.

Needless to say, supplemental insurance and medicare have helped, but only goes so far.  Co-pays have demolished what savings we had, our financial situation is becoming extremely stressed  and likely to become more so. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
