I am trying to raise money for my best friend, Cheryl Thrasher. She was diagnosed with one of the worst types of RA less than a year ago. This was someone who has always been completely healthy to now being almost debilitated. She has not been able to stop working due to the fact she has a household and a son who depend on her. She has tried all kinds of copper gloves, medicines, creams, remedies, changing her diet, etc. Nothing helps. She has been seeing doctor after doctor and getting treatment after treatment. This year the bills started getting higher and higher and before you know it, they took over. When this first started out, it was manageable. It then seemed like all of the appts were back to back so that is how everything piled up. Now it has taken over and is a huge emotional toll because of the financial and physical aspect of it all. She is trying to stay strong for her son but it is hard, as any of us who have illnesses know. Insurance is barely covering anything and they are sending her to all kinds of different places for testing. She is at a stand still with moving forward with testing because of all she owes for previous testing. She is trying to get all that up to date so that she can proceed with the right course of treatment and supplements to maintain this as best as possible for as long as possible. This is someone who has worked hard all her life and has given the shirt off her back if someone needed it. If someone was down on their luck, she was there. If someone needed help she was there. She has never needed help until now so I am trying to do everything I can to see to it she is back on her feet so that she can get back to the testing she needs and get back on track with treatment. I am trying to be able to let her breathe a sigh of relief.
She has been charged 700 for a nutrition genome test and nutrition counseling/food map, 400 for a Genova Diagnostics GI Effects test, 580 for Genova Diagnostics NutrEval FMV test, 1000 for Bloodwork because 25 CPT codes were not covered and she had to pay full cost, 152 for first occupational therapy visit for 30 minutes, 910 for second occupational therapy visit as it included the therapy, compression gloves, custom resting night splints, 4 more occupational therapy visits are needed for 45 minutes at 220 a visit. Those visits are on hold because of all these other tests that need to be paid for. 1200 for supplements for the next few months. That will be ongoing for life. But once she gets caught up, all of this afterwards will be more easily managed. Also 8 doctors visits so far at 40 a piece. Again, she cant attend any more until all this is caught up. So she is at a stand still with getting the help she needs, getting this under control and finding what will give her the most relief. I am asking 5962. The above comes to 5562, the other 400 will cover go fund me's fees and percentages. Any little amount helps, any shares will also help. Please allow me to give back to someone who has never thought twice to give to someone else. The figures above I rounded up to the dollar instead of including cents with everything. I have also seen copies of all the bills so I know for a fact all of this is factual. Also her insurance company is Cigna. Thank you everyone for any donation or share made!
