Help rebuild family home lost in Colorado fire
Donation protected

Dear All,
I am fundraising for my friends Ann and Howe, and their family, who lost their home of 20+ years yesterday in the massive Marshall fire just outside of Boulder, Colorado. The fire spread so quickly that they had only minutes to get out with a couple paper documents and the clothes on their back. The backyard of the home directly faced open space, which connected them directly to the initial location of the fire, that moved hundreds of yards in seconds with the 110 mph winds. Despite even just the house next door being untouched, the homes facing the open space were burned to the ground, theirs with nothing left but the remnants of the burnt car in the garage.
Thankfully, their parents, Ming (mom) and Yilin (dad), are safe and temporarily staying in a hotel in Denver this week as they try to figure out next steps. They are still processing this loss, not only of their home and all the sentimental and irreplaceable items, but also the home daycare, which was Ming’s job and livelihood. The last moments in the home were spent taking care of these children she loved (who are also all now safe at home with their families), and without knowing how many years the rebuilding process will take, there will be a big shift in the family’s day to day and ability to work and provide for basic necessities.
We are so grateful that Ming and Yilin are okay and are asking the community to help in any way as they look to rebuild their lives from scratch. At this point, anything helps — to buy food, medications, clothing, bedding, toiletries, and cover housing costs. Above all else, prayers are appreciated — prayers for peace and comfort during this time, and not only for this family but for the entire community of nearly 1000 homes that were flattened so suddenly in the most destructive fire in Colorado history. Thank you so much for your care and support during this difficult time.
