Those of you who know him, love him nearly. & everyone who meets him, likes him immediately. Clay is the best person. He is genuine, hilarious, caring, and loving. He enters a room and immediately brings so much life and love with him. He is attending Ivy Tech with hopes to advance himself in the profession of teaching or something in IT. He strives for greatness in
every aspect of his life, and those who know him and love him know of his greatness. 

On July 4, 2020 he was in a terrible freak accident involving a firework. He neither was lighting them off nor physically near the firework cake, when it started blowing up and shooting fire balls in every direction. When everyone was running away from the incident, a firework exploded in Clay’s eye. Some of the people there were CNAs and acted immediately. He went to Beacon Emergency that night, well, the early morning of the 5th, where he was then transported by ambulance to Eskenazi hospital in Indianapolis. He has several appointments the next couple of days, including unknown surgeries. His retina is torn, he has a cataract and debris still in his eye. His cornea is scratched, and the swelling is immense. We  don’t know much now, except that he is blind and the possibility of having sight again in his left eye is slim to none. This was a freak accident, there is no one to blame. Clay is a driver for a living. He will never be able to drive again—for a living or for leisure. He doesn’t have health insurance due to COVID and the job losses. We need help.  Anything to help pay for these medical bills and our livelihood while he is facing an unknown future.
