Save My Storage Unit

My name is Matthew Kirshner and I've had this storage unit for the past five years. I've kept up payments all this time, until this past winter and spring, when a series of skin infections and hospitalizations impeded my ability to remain employed and put me behind on several months' worth of payments. The storage company's manager worked with me as long as she possibly could, being willing on several occasions to accept partial payment in order to prevent the account from going to auction. However, she is unable to do so any longer, and one week from today, the account will be closed and sent to auction.

This storage unit contains everything I've collected and owned for thirty years. All of my CDs, all of my books, all of my DVDs, all of my clothes, my Bar-Mitzvah paraphernalia, my personal documents, all of my valued possessions. It also contains possessions I took from my parents' home after each of them passed away: art books and records, Judaica and kosher dishes. An apartment's worth of belongings, a lifetime's worth of memories and meaning. To say that I would be devastated to lose these priceless (to me, at least) items would be an understatement. It's the sort of emotional ruin that I fear I might never recover from.

I've started working again, for which I'm grateful, but I've run out of time on this thing, and I can't do it without you.
