St. Vincent Volcano Relief Fund

Tax deductible
Dear GUYDA Family & Friends,

The island of St. Vincent has experienced an explosive eruption of La Soufriere Volcano on April 9 and April 12, blanketing much of the island with ash, deadly clouds of hot gas, and causing electrical and water interruptions. We thank God that no loss of lives has been reported. However, we recognize the effect that this eruption would have on the livelihood of the residents of St. Vincent in the days and weeks to come. Many have had to evacuate their homes and are in need of shelter. The island is in need of relief items, food and cash.

The Guyana United Youth Development Association of New York, Inc (GUYDA) has a mission to provide opportunities for educational and social advancement of the youth of Guyana and the Caribbean. We sympathize and empathize with the government and people of the St. Vincent & the Grenadines at this time. In response to the urgent need for aid to the island, GUYDA has established a “Go Fund Me” to raise funds to provide disaster relief to our brothers and sisters in St. Vincent. We are in communication with the Consulate of St. Vincent and the Grenadines where the funds will be channeled.
We are hoping that you would join us, in donating towards this dire situation.

Sincere thanks,

Leslie Stewart, P.E.
