My name is Becky and I am trying to help some real dear friends of mine, Guy and Jodi Sharp. After a tongue biopsy, Guy was diagnosed with stage 4 invasive squamous cell carcinoma. His tongue is so bad he can't eat, drink, or talk well. He hasn't had a good night's sleep in a long time.

Next week, he will have an MRI and a PET scan. The results from these tests will tell the next steps. If the cancer has not spread below the collarbone, chemo and radiation will be the treatment, with possible removal of at least 3/4 of his tongue. He will do chemo 1 day a week for 6 to 9 weeks. After chemo, he will do radiation 2x a day for a week while being admitted to the University of Chicago. He will then go home for a week. He will do a week in Chicago and a week at home until radiation is done.

Jodi quit working in February to have shoulder surgery. While healing, Guy's father was diagnosed with cancer. Jodi has been helping care for him. Now she will be taking care of both her husband and father-in-law.

The money donated will be used for transportation back and forth from Chicago and other doctor's visits. Ensure, as this is all Guy can drink. Currently, Guy is paying out of pocket for his pain medicine because the insurance company currently doesn't "deem it medically necessary." Of course, he will be able to get disability at work; however, we all know that is a small portion of what he normally would receive. Their regular household bills will be more than his disability.

If you can't donate, please share and pray for Guy, Jodi, their children, and grandchildren. Thank you in advance for any donations and prayers that can be sent.
