Guy Reed Memorial Patio
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
Now that the sun is starting to shine again, it is time to move forward with Guy Reed's memorial seating area at Cully Central. To make sure we do it right we need to raise some funds and secure some volunteer hours from his friends and family.
Most people know that over the years Cully Central became Guy's favorite spot in Portland for food and drinks after a round of golf. So much so that he became like part of the staff /family and was on a first-name basis with everyone at the restaurant. Many of you remember him frequently passing out spicy Lao jerky and other packaged goods from Cully Central like he was Santa Claus, and more than once he cleared their shelves out before anyone else had a chance to buy anything.
The owners not only graciously hosted his Celebration of Life, but agreed to let us help design and restore a small, secluded seating area that will bear Guy's name and help keep his legacy fresh in our minds. Although the specific details are still yet to be finalized, the money raised will go towards cleanup efforts, landscape design materials, wood fencing, seating and a custom memorial plaque (Fencing/Landscaping through Fortified Contractors LLC at a very generous discount, thank you David & crew) . Any extra funds will go towards food and drinks during a ribbon cutting ceremony after completion.
Cheers to all of you who were lucky enough to know the legend Guy Reed and thank you for your donations. If you have any questions, advice, input or hookups that would help with this process, please don't hesitate to reach out.
