My Name is Mary Kennison. I am the sister of Felicia Rogers and Amy Shumake. On Jan 2, 2024, the worst thing I could ever experience happened. I lost my husband after thirty-three years of marriage. He went to the emergency room for a strained muscle in his back and ended up having a massive heart attack. This was very unexpected and to say this least a shock.
My husband Guy had a valve in his heart replaced in 2016 and two weeks later found out he had colon cancer. He underwent surgery to remove a large portion of his intestines. He underwent chemo treatments and took medicine for a while after surgery. He beat colon cancer. After having cancer Guy was approved for disability and started drawing a monthly check. My job when he worked was babysitting and minimal jobs as he did not want me working a full-time job. At the time of his death the only income we had was his check.
We did not have any life insurance for my husband. I had to borrow the money to get him cremated. I have not been able to have any type of service due to financial issues. What little bit of funds I did have left after paying bills are now tied up at the bank due to errors made on his death certificate. This has been a trying time trying to get all of this figured out and nothing seems to be working. I can’t properly grieve for MY husband due to having to worry about dealing with errors someone else made that is affecting MY life.
I am in need of anything anyone feels like they could help me with. I am a proud person, but I know I need help. I appreciate the people that have already helped me in their ways. When you have nothing anything helps.
