A Proper Goodbye for Guy West Jr. and Support
Donation protected
Hi, my names Kaitlyn Humphrey. I am raising funds for an end of life celebration for my Step Father and Mothers Husband, Guy West Jr. On the morning of November 28th, my mother Beth, returned from taking me to the airport to find my stepfather lifeless on the floor of our living room. He had come home from his nightshirt at work. Not long after getting home, he had a sudden heart attack/cardiac arrest episode that took him unexpectedly from us at the young age of 60. This fundraiser is on behalf of Guy and my mother, who is both unprepared and devastated from losing the love of her life.
Guy was a remarkable man with a huge heart of gold. I have not met a soul who ever had anything poor about him. He was so kind to everyone, and brightened every room with his warm smile, personable sense of humor and charming disposition.
Guy has overcome many health issues over the years, including cancer of throat, sepsis, and a heart valve replacement. He worked so hard all of his life as a Union truck driver, working nights for majority of the past decade. He was so looking forward to retiring next year, with 30+ years of service under his belt. It is unfortunate that he did not get to reap the benefits of retirement and finally relax after the countless years of labor he endured. His favorite place to be was at home and he went peacefully in the place he loved most.
This fund raiser will help my mother (who recently retired) afford cremation services and a beautiful memorial to celebrate the wonderful husband, father, uncle, brother, friend, and coworker that Guy was.
We are finishing up making arrangements for cremation now, and are beginning to seek a venue for the end of life celebration for all those who loved him to attend.
Additionally, funds raised will help my mother through this major life transition. She retired last year and their bills and mortgage are a lot to maintain without my stepfathers financial contribution. Guy had planned to retire next year but due to his sudden loss of life, many of the benefits they were to receive from the union post retirement will no longer be honored. One of the biggest being the loss of their health and medical insurance they were to be granted through the union for the rest of their lives.
We thank you and we love you. Your support means the world to our family.
Rest in Paradise, Guy Anton West Jr.
