Guts Liver Diagnosis and Treatment
Donation protected
My name is Derek, and this is Guts. For those of you who don't know Guts, he is an 8 year old Doberman who I adopted in December of 2019. Weighing in at 110lbs, he is both impressive and intimidating. Yet he is one of the sweetest, most fun-loving dogs I've ever met. Approaching a senior at 8 years old, most people think he's still a puppy based on his personality. As I often say to him while playing, "My boy is always down to party."

Guts was recently brought in for a vet visit, followed by an ultrasound and subsequent biopsy of his liver, after his appetite slowly declined over the past month. We are waiting on the results of the biopsy, which are expected to be delivered by 12/19. In the meantime, Guts is still struggling very much with his appetite, but otherwise acts like his normal self, wanting to go outside and even chase a ball.

The cumulative bill thus far is over $8k. All of which I have put onto credit cards, and even a loan specifically for this. And this is just to receive a diagnosis.

I would never ask anyone to give beyond their means. Taking care of Guts is my responsibility, and I will make sure he is taken care of no matter what. But if you happen to be in a place in your life where you do have enough that you can help us out at all, I cannot express how eternally grateful I would be.

Thank you for taking the time.
Sincerely,
Derek Egidio
