Hello! My name is Gustavo Moncada but most people call me Gus and I would truly appreciate you taking a couple of minutes to read a little bit of my story.

From my youth to my adulthood, I have always been a “happy-go-lucky” kind of guy and worked many jobs all related to hospitality and human relations. I have done so many things I cannot even start to count but some of them I recall with satisfaction are being a DJ, a clown, a monocycle rider, a restaurant server, a plumber, a car salesman, a financing representative, a chef with a published recipe book and a TV show in South Florida, a real estate agent and so much more!

I definitely enjoy being helpful and entertaining people

Now, things took a drastic turn in my life and not so much on the fun side but I’m still trying to keep a smile on my face and a positive attitude.

This is the not the so fun part:

After some medical testing done on me a few weeks ago, it was discovered that I have much higher than normal amounts of calcium deposits in my body directly contributing to active coronary disease. Immediately after the diagnosis, I have not been able to return to work as medically prescribed.

My current calcium score is 775 which is more than the moderate plaque burden of 101-400. I have already done a cardiac catheterization and was referred to Triad Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery-Cardiac in Greensboro where I learned I must have a triple bypass heart surgery next week and won’t be able to return to work for months. I know the recuperating time is going to be slow but I have faith I will be fine after all.

I have always been a dependable, honest, and hard worker and have taken care of my financial responsibilities in a timely matter without asking for help. I lived my life on the fair and honest side; always paid my taxes and never broke the law (I have never even gotten a traffic ticket ) but due to this bump on the road, I am now kindly asking for some financial relief from my family, friends, and people I don’t even know so I can continue to get my surgery next week and to be able to pay part of the medical and living expenses that regretfully I won’t be able to earn by myself since I won’t be able to work for a while.

For no apparent reason, other than perhaps not having seniority at work, I was denied the possibility of receiving any kind of short-term disability as well, leaving me unable to have any current abs near future funding.

My wife is for sure going to be doing what she can to take care of me and the household, however, things are going to be extremely tight without any additional help.

I am in enclosing some of the medical records for your information and I would love to receive some help from you.

I also know that not everyone may be in the position of helping financially, or are not able to donate large amounts, however, ANY amount will certainly help. You could also donate anonymously if preferred.

If you are unable to donate at this time, your prayers and spreading this post with others would help me as well and will be very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Gus
