On April 15, 2021, my parents mourn the loss of a son, my siblings and I mourned the loss of a brother, a son and a daughter mourned the loss of a father, family members mourned the loss of family and friends mourned the loss of friendship. Gustavo Garcia at 34 years old, had the rest of his life ahead of him. With the most recent pandemic, Gustavo was fighting against the odds of COVID-19 for the past weeks. My family and I were looking forward to brighter days as his health was steadily improving. Earlier this week complications arose as his fever returned and his body couldn't handle another battle. He left this earth in peace knowing he had his mom right next to him for the first time in 10+years.
Our family and friends have come together in great support of our family by giving their incredible support during this time of grief. His last wish was to re-design and renovate our grandfathers' tombstone. Now our family is trying to make that last wish come true by placing him right next to his grandfather in Oaxaca, Mexico.
The funds we gather will go straight to my mother in Mexico to cover the costs of his funeral as well as the transportation and the beautification/renewal of his and our grandfather's resting site. Due to COVID-19, his funeral was expedited in the funeral home and we have been given a 4-5 day time frame to allocate the funds before we can receive his ashes and send them off to his birthplace.
Whatever you can donate at this moment will be greatly appreciated, we can't thank you enough for all of your incredible support during these times. May God bless you.
