My name is Gus Ruballo. First and foremost, I am husband to Shirley, who is the most amazing wife and support i could have ever ask for. We have now been married for 2 and half years.
Shirey and I are now proud and blessed parents to our son Judah, born October of this year!
My wife and I are the volunteer directors, youth pastors if you will, of a teen ministry called HOLY58 in the Northridge area of Los Angeles county. We teach and a disciple, along with a team, over 100 high schoolers on a daily and weekly basis. We personally disciple about 25 of them.
My paid "job" is to be the hands and feet of a great inspirational man with no arms or legs, Nick Vujicic. who is a motivational speaker, worldwide evangelist, a great husband and father as well. It is my honor to travel with him and be as a support in any way possible to him and his ministry.
MY NEED: I have a severe eye condition called kheratoconus (more info: http://www.nkcf.org/about-keratoconus/) I am losing vision in both eyes. It could come sooner than later, to a point where my eyes will flood themselves with the liquid in our eyes and go permanently blind. I have had this eye disease for a ittle over 7 years and it is worsening.
Obviously, there are many tasks on a daily basis that require my vision. But more than anything, i would never want to lose vision in seeing my son grow, seeing the beauty of my wife's face, and the smile of the teens we disciple and mentor every week.
I love my wife, i love my job, and i love my life. With your help and assistance in any way, you could help me not lose sight of that... literally.
