The best man I have ever known…….
My family and I have been blessed with knowing a man that was the most genuine man that has ever crossed any of our paths. How could a man be so strong and at the same time be the most gentle soul? People many times would say he had such gentle eyes and an indescribable presence about him.
My father grew up poor and fatherless. He never had time to be a kid. He never let this be a be an excuse but probably is what drove him. He met my mother just before turning 15 years old and they married when he was just 17. He has always worked so hard to take care of everyone and never wanting to disappoint. He worked 2 & 3 jobs at times. We never could understand how he could fix just about anything. And that would include anyone else that came into his path that needed help with anything. As hard as he worked he never put himself first. God is calling this wonderful man home at the young age of 66 and it is not for us to know why. Our faith tells us we will be with him again someday but that doesn't make "goodbye" any easier.
The process has been painful for him and watching this happen to such a wonderful person has broken all of our hearts. I’m not sure how any of us will ever feel whole again, but I do feel blessed I got to call him my father. My father was the sole income earner in the home and I typically do not like to ask for help from anyone if I can help it, but this is for my mother who is losing her best friend of 51 years. I will be here of course to help but any burdens I can take off of her will help. I am told my father will be leaving us and entering heaven today. Any money donated will help with the expenses of cremation, services, closing his business, taking care of his business debts and a trip out into the ocean to take him to one of his favorite fishing places.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts, love, prayers and donations. We sincerely appreciate every bit of it.
