This past March, Gus tore his right cranial cruciate ligament (doggy ACL) which costed us over $5,500 in vet expenses to get the necessary TPLO surgery. The doctor told us 50% of dogs will tear their opposite leg's cruciate within one year of the first. As parents of Gus, we tried really hard to watch Gus’s activity, but being a 2 year old puppy, it’s hard for him to understand why he can’t run and jump like other dogs. Last weekend, Gus’ left cruciate took its last leap and he now requires a TPLO surgery on his left hind leg. Fortunately the orthopedic surgeon was able to schedule us before the holidays, Monday, December 21st so Gus doesn't have to unnecessarily suffer while clinics are closed. We were fortunate enough to be able to pay out of pocket for his first surgery, but this second surgery is a real gut punch. This go-fund-me is to help raise money for Gus’ unexpected second TPLO surgery. Any donation truly makes a difference to our family and we are so thankful and appreciative of any support.
