GUS HOCHSCHILD - THE COUNTESS AND THE BEAR

Gus left us an inestimable legacy of love, fine images and rare limericks, friendship and good humour.

One of his aspirations was to publish “The Countess and the Bear” which captures much of his imagination, wit and charm, his passion for life and delight in its more curious and absurd aspects.

Annabella Drummond has been in discussion with a number of private presses to print and printing costs on the basis of 100-150 copies come in at around GBP 2700 and GBP 700 P&P, any excess raised over printing cost will go to Cancer Research UK and Trinity Hospice. The more copies we print the lower the cost per copy :-).

Annabella and Fabrizio have been beavering away carefully selecting bindings, types of paper, fonts and styles to ensure a beautiful result that Gus would have been proud of. The book will be 22 x 15cm, 300 pages and linnen-bound with gold lettering. It will contain a picture of Gus, the novel, an illustration with a limerick, a poem written for Isabel´s 3rd birthday and a list of subscribers at the end.

We are looking for contributions of GBP 26 per copy if you are happy to collect your copy from Maria or Annabella or GBP 30 per copy to cover postage and packing if you would like it posted. Please message me which is your preferred delivery option and the address if you would like us to post the book to you.

We would like to close the project by end of October, to confirm with the printers and have the books with you in December.
