Join Us in Creating a Symbol of Unity and Service
We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your incredible support and generous donations, we have begun Phase 1 construction of the new Langar Hall and Kitchen at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar on July 21, 2024. This 7,000 sq ft hall, complete with a walk-in cooler, is set to be completed by the end of August 2024, better serving our growing community.
Langar Hall Construction Phases
To reach our goal of $900,000.00, the construction will proceed in three stages:
- Phase 1: Funded and currently under construction.
- Phase 2: We now need to raise $250,000.00.
- Phase 3: The final phase of construction.
The Need for a New Langar Hall
Every Sunday, our Gurdwara welcomes around 300 sangat members, but our current Langar Hall can only hold 70 people. This forces us to set up temporary seating outside, which is challenging, especially during bad weather. Our kitchen is also too small to handle the large sangat efficiently.
Why Your Support Matters
Langar is a cornerstone of Sikh practice, symbolizing equality, service, and unity. A new, larger Langar Hall will allow us to:
- Serve More People Efficiently: More space means we can provide meals comfortably and efficiently.
- Enhance Community Bonding: A larger hall will foster a stronger sense of community.
- Promote Inclusivity: The Langar Hall will welcome everyone, reinforcing Sikh values of serving humanity without discrimination.
How You Can Help
Your generous donations will fund the construction of the new Langar Hall. Here's how you can support:
- Donate: Any amount helps.
- Share: Spread the word by sharing our GoFundMe page.
- Volunteer: Offer your skills or time to help with the project.
Together, We Can Make a Difference
Your support will help create a lasting legacy of service, compassion, and unity. The new Langar Hall will stand as a testament to our shared commitment to the principles of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Thank you for your generosity and support. Let’s build a space where everyone is welcome, and where we can continue to serve our community with love and dedication.
