Gurdjieff Seeker of Truth Documentary

The school of BePeriod is raising funds for a full-length documentary on George Gurdjieff titled Seeker of Truth.

The documentary traces Gurdjieff's search for truth by revealing the sources of his main psychological ideas. It surveys his early career - gathering followers, navigating the turbulent 20th century, establishing the Chateau Prieuré, earning public acclaim in America - and argues that it could only have ended in the closure of his Institute. Gurdjieff ultimately followed the trajectory of the Fourth Way, a path of self-initiation, in which the teacher cannot do for his students what the students must do for themselves. Through presenting these aspects of Gurdjieff and his teaching, the documentary elucidates his role in the broader Fourth Way tradition, leaving the viewer with fresh insights and questions about where the Fourth Way may stand today.

The funds raised will be used for hiring animators to bring to life the diagrams and period photos, voice actors to read the quotations in the spirit of their original authors, and musicians to record the music composed especially for this script.
