Gunston Girls Trust, in memory of Katie MacDonald
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mary. I was fortunate enough to have grown up with Katie and even more fortunate to remain friends with her as adults. Katie passed away on her 42nd birthday after a five month battle with neuroendocrine cancer. Katie's three girls are the reason she fought to the absolute end, they were her absolute reason for living. Even when diagnosed with stage IV cancer and against all odds, she never gave up hope.
Many people have reached out to her family since her passing hoping to do something for her girls. Her family is currently setting up a trust with a lawyer to help with the girls' future education. Any money donated here would be added to their trust. Katie's greatest fear was not being here for her girls as they grew and pursued their own dreams; although she is gone, she will never be forgotten. We, her friends and her family, will always love and take care of her girls, and her memory no matter what.
Above all Katie lived her life full of love for her family and especially her girls - that love has left a mark on everyone who remembers her stubbornness, her half-smirk smile, the sound of her laughter and her voice yelling Lindsay or Krista's name, the way she made raising three girls look effortless, and the dreams she had for her three girls.
“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love.”
