Emergency Help Fund Capri-Gunning Family
On what began as a normal day, tragedy struck when Lawrence Capri IV and his young son Bodhi were involved in a horrific car accident that turned their lives upside down.
Lawrence sustained catastrophic injuries:
12 broken ribs
A crushed right hand
Every bone and ligament connecting his right leg to his hip and pelvis was shattered
His right leg had to be surgically reattached using metal plates and hardware
Bodhi, his son, suffered a femur injury and a fractured leg. While he is on the road to recovery, Lawrence’s condition remains critical and complicated.
Recently, a dangerous bacterial infection developed in Lawrence’s reattached leg. Despite multiple ER visits and aggressive antibiotics, the infection has worsened. Doctors are now forced to reopen his leg, remove the metal hardware, and clean the infection, with the hope of saving the leg. But the risk of losing it altogether is very real.
To make matters even harder, Lawrence has suffered serious complications from medications — including seizures, severe dizziness, blurred vision, and intense ringing in his ears — all while enduring unimaginable pain.
This family of five has had their entire world turned upside down. Lawrence now requires 24/7 care, which has forced his to take a leave from her job to care for him full-time. Between hospitalizations, surgeries, antibiotics, lost income, and ongoing care needs, the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming.
We are reaching out to you — friends, family, and compassionate strangers — to help lift some of the burden from their shoulders. Your support will go directly toward:
Medical bills, physical therapy and other long term recovery expenses
Medications and infection treatment
Home care equipment and transportation
Household expenses and support for their children while one parent needs 24hr care and the other has taken a leave from work to care from them
No donation is too small. Every bit of help, every share, every word of support means the world to the Capri family right now. Let’s rally around them and show them they’re not alone.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you!
