Gunner developed stage 4 cancer in January 2020. He went through 2 cycles of chemotherapy with very little time between remission and is now in cycle 3 of treatment. His cancer has just been found spread to his brain in addition to all of the initial sites originally lung, liver, abdomen and origin of testicular. Our only option for treatment was a stem cell transplant using his own stem cells which were retrieved before last year chemo. He started the process on Feb 18, but it has been full of complications with his body rejecting some of the chemo and his kidneys just not functioning like they should. After a year of back and forth treatment and now staying at the hospital for 3-4 months we are working to get him some of the basics he needs like foods he can eat with the mucositis the chemo has caused and even lipgloss. It will also aid in travel to and from home and hotel expenses in the rare instance we can have visitors.
We have waited 14 months to do this as we are not looking for or expecting anything at al from anyone, but any little bit to survive this 3-4 month hospital stay will go a long way toward getting him healthy and home. We are blessed with the best support system and we love you all.
Any funds we don't use will be donated to Friends of Kids with Cancer in Gunners name.
