Gunhoon Chung Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 19, after a week of hospitalization fighting COVID-pneumonia, Gunhoon Chung went to his eternal home in heaven with Jesus. In many ways, he was living life as if he was already there. This was evident by his endless perseverance, generosity, and contagious joy through all circumstances - a combination that is explained only by his close relationship with Jesus. Before he was intubated, he mustered enough strength to give a thumbs up to his family over FaceTime and then went on to squeeze his nurse's hand.
He is survived by his wife, Soonshil (Brenda), two children Borah (Bella) and Daerho (Danny), daughter-in-law Sarah, two grandchildren Jackson and Evelyn, and many extended family members and friends who are blessed to have been loved by Gunhoon.
The family is making plans to sell their store and house in Jacksonville, after which, Soonshil will join Bella in the greater Atlanta area. Danny and his family will continue to serve in the U.S. Air Force.
Part of the funds will go toward offsetting some of the costs of the funeral (Wednesday, Dec. 23rd at 4:00 pm EST) and also help with the transition sometime in early 2021.
