Funeral fundraiser For Our Murdered Son

A recent shooting in SAN JOSE, CA has left our 21-year-old son fighting for his life. Michael's story is just beginning as this tragedy happened on December 13, 2019. I feel blessed to have the chance to say that our son, Michael, has a story to tell even though he's still in a medically induced coma.
The miracles that are happening before our eyes are unbelievable. The most important miracle is that Michael is still with us; however, he is in critical condition and currently fighting for his life at a Level 1 Trauma Unit in San Jose, CA. Your prayers, words, thoughts and good wishes are very much encouraged and appreciated. Those who have visited, and who are here every day to be with Michael, have brought spiritual gifts of strength and peace to Michael's entire family. Thank you. Also, for those who haven't been able to physically be here, your presence through prayer has traveled many miles through the air and between the rain straight into Michael's hospital room. God bless you and the vast array of your dear family and friends, whom we may not know, but who have prayed for Michael.
So what happened?
Michael was shot in his vehicle. This GUN VIOLENCE was unprovoked, and random. MICHAEL, just like YOU, has hopes & dreams of starting a life after he graduates from college. But that has been tragically put on hold. Michael was shot through his arm and the bullet pierced diagonally right below his ribs and through his abdomen, and then violently bounced around in his gut, resulting in major organ damage and significant blood loss. The bullet also severed a major artery that was repaired using an artery from his leg. This procedure is not healing well and we've been told that there is a possibility that Michael could loose his leg. As of now, we have hope that this will not be the case, so please send prayers for the healing of his leg, too. All in all, the bullet is lodged into the soft tissue above his femur bone and will not be removed at this time.
MICHAEL IS IN A MEDICALLY INDUCED COMA, HAS UNDER-GONE 3 SURGERIES SO FAR, AND IS ON FULL LIFE SUPPORT. MICHAEL LOST MORE THAN 150 UNITS OF BLOOD DUE TO AN ARTERY BEING DISMEMBERED BY THE BULLET. MICHAEL'S LIVER IS NOT WORKING AND HIS KIDNEY'S ARE FAILING AND HE'S BEING SUPPORTED BY A 24-HOUR DIALYSIS MACHINE.
These injuries have critically injured his body, but as Michael continues to fight for his life, his family has decided to begin preparing for Michael's future medical needs. It will be necessary for him to have the the ability to begin Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and other specialized treatment. No doubt, it is a LONG road, but Michael's family is committed to his care no matter how tough it gets. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." Michael is only 21 years old and very strong, so we anticipate the best outcome for him as he has been fighting to survive. But this requires not just a lifetime's worth of strength, energy and determination, it requires A LOT of money, too.
We have NO IDEA what this could end up costing as the significant long term therapy from the injuries Michael sustained cannot be predicted. It's not easy to ask, but WE NEED FINANCIAL HELP. We need YOUR help in supporting Michael's current and future medical needs. Eventually, Michael will need another car as this traumatic event happened in his vehicle.
We also need monetary support for Michael's family. They need to be able to take time off from work and still be able to financially support themselves. They have traveled from Las Vegas, leaving Michael's younger sister and younger brother behind. They need to be with Michael, to ensure he receives the best care, and make the best decisions with Michael's other family members. This means they have taken an unknown amount of time off from work and they are depleting their monetary resources to be able to get Michael back on his feet. They will accept anything:
Gas Cards, Grocery Store Gift Cards, Meal Donations, Travel Cards (Airlines, Uber, Rental Cars, Hotels, etc.) So please give what you can, as every dollar goes towards Michael's recovery and his family's needs.

My son, Michael, was shot in his car. Michael suffered significant stomach trauma and internal damage, which was caused from the bullet. Michael has not been awake for a week now, and during that time his liver and kidney's have failed. With that said, Michael has been on a slow dialysis machine, 24 hours around the clock, since his 1st day in the Trauma Unit.

Thanks to the many prayers and incredible healing hands of the surgeons and nurses in the trauma hospital as our son is making small steps each day toward recovering...more miracles! Thank you so much for your prayers, because Michael's kidneys and liver are now miraculously slowly functioning again; despite that he's still in critical condition. Furthermore, we are also so grateful for all of your donations, because we really need those blessings, too!
