Hi, my name is Joy and I am raising funds for The GULFSTREAM SAILING CLUB.

GSC was founded in 1957, and is one of Broward County's oldest sailing clubs. The Sailing Club is run by its members who are volunteers and are committed to preserving fun and safety, while keeping it affordable for everyone in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Through our "Kids Learn to Sail" and "Adults Learn to Sail" programs, our ocean racing and informative monthly meetings we explore all aspects of boating. Gulfstream Sailing Club has promoted safety and instruction, along with fostering a love of the ocean, lakes and boating.

We work hard to keep our learn to sail programs cost low as well as our yearly dues to allow people of lower income to have the opportunity to experience the sport of sailing, but in the last few years the operating costs (i.e. boat maintenance, replacement parts and insurance) have risen dramatically, making it difficult to maintain our affordable prices.

We have never had an insurance claim and have tried everything to reduce the costs. We are seeking funding to assist with the higher operating costs, so we can continue these programs at a reasonable rate.
