Esteban's recovery
Donation protected
On the 4th of July this year, Esteban Casas was tragically injured by an artillery shell. He was goofing off and decided to hold the shell while it was lit and shot off, unfortunately, it did not shoot nor did it go up, it just exploded. Seconds after it shot, Esteban was lying on the ground bleeding everywhere, but out of all the pain he was enduring, he didn't fail to tell us jokes and try to cheer us all up while the ambulance was on its way. We examined his injuries and his left hand was the one that took most of the damage, the skin was completely gone on most of the palm and you could see the bone. When the paramedics came they had to Life-Star him to a hospital in Amarillo because we do not have any hand specialists in Borger. At 6 am the next morning he was taken into surgery, the doctors then stated that his palm was shattered and his carpel tunnel vein was visible therefore the injury was very severe he also broke both of his wrists. There was a 70% chance he was not going to be able to use his left hand ever again(or even keep it for that matter), but the doctors miraculously saved it. After a 6 hour surgery, he is doing better but he is in two casts, as shown, and he has minor burns on his face and chest. In 4 weeks he was supposed to go to college, but the doctors say that he will not have full use of his hands for 6-8 months, this is when things started to really impact him. We do not yet know what it will cost to take care of his medical bills or the intense care he will need for the next 6-8 months but we hope you will help us as much as you can. This guy is a miracle and I hope that you please help us continue to take care of him and keep him in good condition. Please help out his family, anything is appreciated.
