Guitarhead - A music based short film.

Donation protected
Hi everyone!

My name is Daniel Crowe, I’m a writer/director from Dublin, Ireland.

I have previously worked as a runner and camera crew on the TG4 mini-series Wrecking the Rising. Most recently I worked as a 2nd AD on feature films such as Love Lane United which has been accepted to the Galway Film Fleadh and The Glitch and The Ghost, both of which will be released this year.

I have written and directed several short films, with my most recent film Echoes winning Best Short Film at the Vienna Indie Film Festival 2025.

My aim is to raise funds for my upcoming short film project GUITARHEAD, which will be shot in Dublin, in the summer of 2025. The script has been very well received and has an incredible cast and crew attached.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Your support and donations will go directly to paying cast and crew members, as well as post-production fees including Editor, Grader, Sound Mixer and Festival fees.

THE STORY
When Jamie’s long-time girlfriend cheats on him with his ex-boss, he puts everything he has into making music with his band. Now, playing a live show to a packed crowd and with their reputation attracting the attention of music agents, the arrival of his ex-girlfriend, Chloe, throws the night into chaos.

THE STYLE
Guitarhead will largely be filmed handheld to give a sense of immediacy and freneticism to immerse the viewer.

The lighting and decor will create a gritty and grungy atmosphere which is easily helped by the fantastic location that we have selected.
This is a blend of films such as Green Room, Almost Famous, Control, and TV shows like Vinyl.

The songs used in this are also created completely from scratch with the cast members who make up the band.

Below are examples of the visual style:

One reviewer stated "Áine Collier giving notice that she’s a rising star showing serious talent." A great addition to our strong cast.

Chris is a Sound Mixer with over 20 years experience working short and feature films. Coming from South Africa his work is predominantly S.A based, but I'm delighted to have the benefit of his experience for this film.

All donations are incredibly valuable, and I would be delighted to invite all donors to a friends and family screening of the finished film in Dublin so that you can see what you supported.
