On September 25, 2019, our beloved friend and colleague, Guisela Lopez, passed away at the age of 44 in La Mirada. Guisela is survived by her 2 loving teenage sons (Daniel and David), her parents, 2 sisters, and brother. Unfortunately, Guisela lost the love of her life 3 years ago. As a single parent, she had to provide for her 2 children. Now with the loss of both parents, Daniel and David need our financial support as they cope with the additional loss.
Guisela, a Bell High School alum, wanted to give back to her community, so she embraced the teaching profession and gave her time, energy, passion, heart, money, and soul to her students. Initially, she was a T.A. and after years of arduously working through college and grad school, she received her B.A. and teaching credential. When she completed her studies, she returned to her second home, Bell High School, to teach the future youth. She dedicated 20 years to B.H.S. as an English teacher, yearbook sponsor, and MTCA member. In those capacities, she was a surrogate mother, friend, confidant, therapist, who touched immeasurable number of students, friends, and colleagues with her spirit, heart, and smile.
What she gave to others is priceless, but now her family, her precious legacy, her sons, need our help. Please assist Daniel and David through their time of need with love, prayers, and financial support.
Thank you.
