Chronic 33 - GWR Attempt
Donation protected
On February 1st, a team of 20 riders will attempt the Guinness World Record for the Longest Static Cycle Class. Our goal is to ride for 33 hours, breaking the current record of 31 hours and 34 minutes. Under the strict guidelines set by Guinness World Records, the event will require synchronised cycling, precise video documentation, and minimal rest, making it a true test of endurance and grit.
While we require funds to cover the logistics necessary to ensure the safety of our riders during this world record attempt, all additional proceeds will go directly to Chronic Pain Australia, a non-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness, educating the public and healthcare professionals, and providing essential resources for managing chronic pain.
Chronic pain is the leading cause of disability in Australia, impacting the lives of over 3 million Australians, myself included. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with keratoconus, a degenerative eye condition that causes daily headaches and eye pain. Having lived with chronic pain myself, this cause holds deep personal significance for me.
In essence, this record attempt is about enduring 33 hours of pain to support those who have to endure it every single day. That's why we've named the event The Chronic 33.
